Location

South Whatcom Library

Description

In the 2025 Whatcom READS selection No Two Persons, water is present throughout the novel in a variety of ways. Whatcom County Library System has teamed up with the folks at Bellingham SeaFeast for a program that celebrates our connection to the water. Each attendee of this workshop will be given a small buoy and as we decorate the buoys, we'll engage in a fluid discussion of the book, No Two Persons

The buoys will then be collected and incorporated in the Community Net Project, Bellingham SeaFeast's initiative to unite diverse communities in Whatcom County through creative, hands-on activities that address plastic pollution and celebrate maritime heritage. This traveling art installation will be displayed at the 2025 SeaFeast celebration, as well as other locations across Whatcom County.

Spaces are limited and registration is required.

This event is part of the Whatcom READS series of program and events, hosted in support of this year's book selection, No Two Persons, by Erica Bauermeister. Western Libraries is a Whatcom READS program partner.

[Image Description: Two painted buoys sitting on a wooden plank with pink netting behind them. One buoy's painting is of a colorful octopus, and the other looks like a black and white sketch of a seascape with a fish swimming among the sea reeds.]
