A continuation of Lakewood’s Beginning Sailing curriculum, this weekend lesson is a good fit for students looking to take the next step and progress to sailing bigger boats or on other bodies of water. Sailors will continue to refine their sailing on WWU’s fleet of 14-foot trainer dinghies but will also be introduced to skillsets required rig and sail other boats at Lakewood.
Participants should have completed Sailing Basics or an equivalent beginner course elsewhere.

Lakewood's spring lessons are intended for students from Western, NWIC, WCC, BTC, NWIC. Staff/Faculty and alum lessons will be offered in summer 2025!
Transportation Info:
Weekend lessons: WTA Route 512 leaves from the downtown Bellingham station @ 9:40a and arrives at Lakewood by 10:05a. A vanpool may be available. Or there is plenty of parking onsite!
Cost: $40 per person

Schedule: Lessons occur on two non-consecutive weekend days (10:30am-2:30p) plus an optional weekday evening: 6/3 or 6/5 (4:30p-7:30p) All session dates listed below:
May 10 & 31 (Saturdays)
May 11 & June 1 (Sundays)
