Five Minute Film Competition

Calling all film enthusiasts!  

 

It’s back! This May, AMP will be hosting a Five Minute Film Competition in the Underground Coffeehouse.

 

On May 22nd we will screen the film submissions in the Underground Coffeehouse starting at 7 PM. A panel of judges will evaluate the films based on technical quality, entertainment value, and creativity The creators of the winning film will be crowned at the end of the night and awarded $250, and there will be additional prizes for the second and third place films.

 

Prompt: Make a film about a character who comes upon something that they aren’t supposed to see.

 

Guidelines: Films must be between 4.5 to 5.5 minutes long including any credits and acknowledgements. Films must be made specifically for the competition within the submission time frame (April 8th- May 19th) and adhere to the prompt. Groups must be at least 50% WWU students and have a WWU student "group leader." We love horror and spooky vibes but please leave out any gratuitous or unnecessary violence. We reserve the right to reject films with objectionable content. Please ask ahead of time if you're unsure about something you want to include!  

 

Submissions: Films are due by May 19th at 11:59 PM. Please include any applicable trigger warnings and proof of when the film was made in your submission. Please include captions in your short film.
