Description

The Counseling and Wellness Center and the Pink Moon Society are proud to announce the opening of "Through Our Lens," a gallery exhibition featuring film photography and storytelling from Western students. Showcasing a diverse array of images, this exhibition offers a unique glimpse into the vibrant experiences and perspectives of Western students' visual perspectives in response to the questions: “Why not me?” and “How do we build our own spaces at WWU?”

Funded by the Sustainability, Equity, and Justice Fund, the “Through Our Lens” project spanned two quarters. Based on Photovoice, a community-based participatory research methodology, the project connected science and practice, inspiring community engagement and student participation in the development, planning, and implementation of a well-being intervention that gave students a space to reflect individually and communally about belonging and connection at WWU through the medium of photography.

The "Through Our Lens" gallery exhibit will be open to the public from May 13 to May 22 at the B Gallery, located in Fine Arts 118. Admission is free, offering an opportunity for the community to engage with the work of these talented student photographers. Please join us for light refreshments and community celebration at our opening reception Wednesday, May 14, 4:30 to 5:30 PM.

For disability accommodation, please email cwc@wwu.edu.
