Viking Union, in collaboration with Western Libraries / Western Libraries' Special Collections, presents Zine VVOVV: Publishing & Print for All, a hands-on zine-making workshop happening on 05/29/2025 from 1:30–4:30pm in the Viking Union.
This creative, collaborative event invites student to explore the art of zine-making as a means of storytelling, advocacy, and cultural critique. Inspired by the Frank L. Waynewood Underground and Alternative Comix Collection, participants will experiment with illustration, printing and bookbinding techniques to create small-edition, self-published works.
Led by guest artists and supported by archive specialists, the workshop will include guided demos, a collaborative exchange of zines, and a display of rare materials from the Waynewood Collection—one of the Pacific Northwest’s richest resources on underground comics and countercultural narratives.
All materials and inspiration provided, but feel free to come prepared with ideas and images.
