Description
Please join the Outdoor Center for our livestream yoga session from 10am to 11am!
About the Teacher:
My name is Alana Smutz and I am a yoga teacher through the Outdoor Center at Western. I am a junior majoring in Psychology and minoring in Anthropology. I started practicing yoga in high school to balance out my rigorous swim schedule and I was hooked! After practicing for four years or so I decided to get my 200-hour teaching certification in India, and I’ve been teaching consistently for the past two years. My favorite style of yoga is Vinyasa or Vinyasa Flow because as a student and teacher, it allows me to tap into my creativity and focus on being present, sort of like a moving meditation.

About the Class:
I will lead students through an hour long vinyasa flow class geared towards all levels. Each class will be taught at a medium pace with a warm-up, main flow, warm-down, and savasana (final relaxation) format.
Learning Outcomes:
Vinyasa flow is a style of yoga that seeks to synchronize movement to breathe in order to create a sense of flow from one pose to the next. Flows will incorporate elements of strength, balance, and meditation. Variations to poses will be offered when applicable.
