Description
Are you interested in sustainable energy? Do you have an idea that might improve resource management?
The Sustainability, Equity, & Justice Fund will host an event to explore sustainable energy on campus and how students can impact energy use. The SEJF originated as a mechanism to offset the university’s carbon output and has been used to purchase renewable energy credits for over a decade. The grant program has also funded numerous student-driven projects designed to improve Western’s energy system.
For this hour-long mix of an idea lab and a panel discussion, participants will be able to listen and chat with three members of the Western community that have engaged in sustainable energy management:
- Joel Swisher, the director of the Institute of Energy Studies
- Leo Coultier, the overseer of Western’s Tool Lending Library, a project funded by the SEJF
- Spiro Pappas, WWU alumni and creator of the SEJF Project that brought EV Charging Stations to campus
The event will be on Wednesday 24 February from 4pm to 5pm.
Log into Zoom Meeting 934 9382 5419 to attend.
