Outback Farm Outdoor Classroom
Description
The Counseling and Wellness Center and the Outback Farm are collaborating to bring you a new monthly workshop series, Growing Wellness! These hands-on workshops offer nature-based experiential strategies and a space to connect with nature for wellbeing. Sessions will take place outside at the Outback Farm Outdoor Classroom, so plan accordingly for the weather. All workshops are held 1-2:30 PM. Each workshop will include a plant-based teaching guided by the book, Plant Teachings For Growing Social-Emotional Skills: Cultivating Resiliency and Wellbeing with Northwest Plants.

FEB 8: Climate Anxiety Care

Bundle up and gather together with like-hearted people to learn about climate anxiety and how to weather this type of anxiety in a psychologically sustainable way. Our plant teacher for this session is LEMONBALM.
MAR 8: Regeneration

Our gardens and natural spaces are constantly gathering energy. Learn a technique for gathering your own positive energy and carry it with you to help with hard days or when you just need a boost.
APR 12: Late Winter Blues

The winter blues seem to last forever here in the Pacific Northwest due to our quirky shoulder season springs. We’ll be getting our hands dirty as we learn how small, doable steps can have impacts on managing episodes of depression and anxiety.
MAY 10: Growing from Muck

Like worms in a compost pile, we can transform and benefit from life’s hard things! Join us at the Outback compost pile to learn how through experiential practice and dialogue.
