Asia University America Program

Western Washington University's Asia University America Program (AUAP) is a 5-month English language and culture immersion program for Asia University students from Tokyo, Japan. Since 1988, AUAP has welcomed over 4,100 students, enhancing their English skills and providing personal and professional development. AUAP thrives on the support of Western students and the Bellingham community. Volunteers help AUAP students adjust to American life, offering guidance as Campus Friends, roommates, and classroom assistants. Many of our staff began as volunteers, forming lasting connections through the program. Volunteering with AUAP is a rewarding experience. As a volunteer, you'll help students with daily life, share cultural experiences, and assist in English classes. Commitments are flexible and can fit easily into your schedule.
