WWU Food Recovery Network

Our volunteers have formed connections within the community and started working with Sustainable Connections to collect surplus food from local businesses, primarily the community food co-ops. The food is distributed to free food pantry’s, tiny house villages for houseless folks, homeless shelters and mutual aid efforts in Bellingham. This is an amazing opportunity to reduce food waste, feed those who need it most, and strengthen our communities through building connections in various settings.
