Students for Renewable Energy
About
Students for Renewable Energy meets on Mondays at 5pm in the Miller Hall Collab Space. Come drop into a meeting to see what we're up to! Our main projects at the moment include helping Western invest our endowment in funds that align with our values and morals. We also do documentaries, movie nights, have conversations about climate justice, have guest speakers, and support community organizing where needed.
In the past we've: Helped Western invest in a wind farm, toured wind farms, supported ballot initiatives, incorporated sustainable investing strategies into WWU Foundation's Endowment Fund management, and more! SRE takes action to move beyond fossil fuels in a just transition toward sustainable energy systems by engaging the community through education and advocacy for climate justice.
