Western Hmong Student Association

About

Western Hmong Student Association (WHSA) is an ethnic club here at Western Washington University. WHSA became an official club of the AS and the ESC in the Spring of 2014. The Hmong are a group of hill people who now live all over the world. There are currently big populations of Hmong people in China, Laos, Thailand, and Vietnam; the Indochina area. During the Vietnam War, the Hmong people aided the US against the communist party (Viet Minh, Viet Cong & Pathet Lao); after the Vietnam War, many Hmong families fled Laos to seek refuge in other nations. The goal of WHSA is to advocate for higher education and to spread awareness about the Hmong people and culture. WHSA would love to have you join us and come learn more about the Hmong people and their culture.
